Youth Alpine Racing 2027

$120.00

The Racing Development Program gives young (ages 7-14) skiers an opportunity to both improve their skiing technique and develop racing skills. While no racing experience is necessary, prospective participants should be independent in gearing up, riding lifts, and be able ski Cloud 9 at Hermon Mountain independently and comfortably.

In the interest of skier safety the coaching staff may refer some skiers to the Advanced Learn to Ski Program if that program is better suited to that individual’s skills.

The Racing Development Program will practice each Saturday morning at Hermon Mountain and will begin as soon as snow/trail conditions allow and continue through the end of racing season. We may also have some opportunities for evening training sessions or practices at other mountains as opportunities arise.

This year, we will again have one session that covers the entire season. Practices will begin as soon as there is adequate snow and the mountains allow us to practice.

Cost:

  • $120 for session.

  • Season passes and half-day passes are available for purchase through Hermon Mountain. A discount for half-day passes may be available for our racer team participants.

  • Jackets will be available for use by our racers for $15 for the season.

Additionally, we will limit participants to 50 again this season. You must be a member of PVSC to participate in this program. Racers may be able to participate in optional junior races throughout the season. Many race opportunities are attended by our team, all are voluntary and not required. Many of these races will be attended by our coaching staff and they will be on the mountain to assist your young racers. We will provide information to participants regarding races as it is received. Race locations for the season may include the following:

  1. Lost Valley (Auburn)

  2. Hermon Mountain

  3. Camden Snow Bowl

  4. Big Rock (Mars Hill)

  5. Lonesome Pines (Fort Kent)

  6. Greenville

A pre-season meeting will be scheduled and a date and time will be emailed to those who sign up. Those who are interested in learning more about the program should e-mail program coordinator Josh McPherson (pvscracing@gmail.com).
