Nordic Ski Lease

There are two different ski lease programs offered to cross-country skiers in our area.  The Club does not rent any alpine equipment – please check with local ski shops for information about alpine rentals.

PVSC Ski Lease

The PVSC-operated ski lease program is primarily designed for high school skiers (priority basis), but some middle school skiers and general club members may also apply for equipment (as available). Skiers participating on racing teams are expected to have both skate and classic equipment, which can be expensive, especially if you are still growing. PVSC leases skate skis, poles and combi boots (work for both skate and classic skiing)  for $100/season. This package is available only to PVSC members, so join today!

The PVSC fit night (when you sign up and receive equipment) is Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 5:30 in the Kenduskeag Room at the Bangor Parks and Rec building. Please come with a parent and be sure to know your height and weight. Skiers must be members of the Penobscot Valley Ski Club in order to lease skis (membership information available here). Because there is often more demand than equipment, priority will be given to first and second year team skiers.

OSI Ski Lease

The youth ski lease program, run by the Outdoor Sports Institute (formerly Maine Winter Sports Center), is designed for skiers up through 8th grade, and supplies them with a full outfit of ski equipment for only $65.  Each child receives a pair of skis, boots and one pair of poles.  This equipment is known as “combi gear” and can be used for both skate and classic skiing.

Orono Parks & Rec fit night is Wednesday, November 14th from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at Maine Bound Adventure Center. You can also contact Bangor Parks & Rec for information on leasing skis. You do not need to be a resident of Bangor or Orono to rent through their Parks and Rec departments.
