2009 Cross Country Ski Program

Monday, Dec 1st, 5:30-7pm @ Victoria Grant Civic Center
Come experience the fun of cross country skiing! The PVSC in conjunction with the
Winterport and Hampden Recreation Departments would like to invite youth and adults ages 6 &
up to learn to cross country ski. The program can accommodate from beginners to experienced
skiers. Through skill instruction and exciting ski games, this program is organized to meet the
needs of various ski levels. There are also xc ski racing opportunities if desired. Program runs
from December 8th through March 6th with no practices during school vacations.
Registration sign up will be December 1st from 5:30-7pm at the Victoria
Grant Civic Center. Please fill out the registration forms and the
waivers and bring in at this time. If you can not attend the registration night, please send forms to:

**Equipment is available for season rental for $45. If you wish to use this
equipment rental program, you must be registered and paid before or on December 1st.
Schedule:
· Mondays and Thursdays from 2:30-3:45 PM at Abbott
Park in Winterport
· Tuesdays from 3:15- 4:30 PM at Lura Hoit Pool in Hampden
. Begins Monday, December 8th & ends Thursday, March 6th (no practices
during school vacations)
· Various weekend practice opportunities also available in Orono and other
venues, TBA.
Cost:
$30 for 1st person
$10 for each additional family member
. Fee provides you membership in Penobscot
Valley Ski Club
Equipment:
$45 ($50 with a ski bag)
. Seasonal equipment lease if you do not already have equipment
(Equipment to be leased through the Maine Winter Sports Center)
*If a minimum of 8 participants is not met or do not have sufficient volunteers, a refund
will be given* (Need 1 adult volunteer per 8 skiers)
Practice cancellations occur due to snow conditions and weather--
cancellations will be emailed to you.
We welcome volunteers!! You do not need to ski to help. Please
